Taken as Theirs by Kryssie Fortune

Taken as Theirs by Kryssie Fortune

As a fertile woman in an infertile world, no wonder she was TAKEN AS THEIRS.

Blurb

As a breeder--one of the few fertile women left in a ruined, plague-ravaged world--Cassie would fetch a handsome price at auction, and selling her to the highest bidder was exactly what her captors had in mind... until two fearsome beasts decided to take her for themselves.

Eli and Dane have chosen Cassie for their mate, and when she makes a foolish attempt at escape she quickly ends up tearfully promising obedience as her bare bottom is soundly and shamefully punished. Her body's response to their stern dominance cannot be denied, however, and it isn't long before she is screaming out her intense, helpless pleasure as she is roughly and thoroughly claimed. But will Eli and Dane's pack accept a human girl or will Cassie be an outsider forever?

Publisher's Note: Taken as Theirs includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Excerpt

Goosebumps covered Cassie’s flesh. Tingles raced between her legs, tiny electric sparks that warmed her blood. One kind word and her good intentions would crumble—just like her sisters’ chance of freedom if she told this drop-dead gorgeous pair about them.

What with the vampire auction and that nightmare descent of the cliff, she couldn’t take much more. Cassie had been a fool to think she could escape. Completely drained, she was at the werewolves’ mercy

Her imagination worked overtime. Wolves were pack animals. Suppose they decided to share her around the crew? The vampires certainly would have, and she didn’t expect werewolves to behave any better.

She cowered when Eli pulled a knife, but he sawed through the wet rope binding her to his brother. Her legs folded, and only Dane’s strong grip kept her upright. Sheaving his knife, Eli swept her into his arms.

He gave her his best Pepsodent-white smile. “Foolish little princess, so eager to return to the vampires who will abuse you. You’re safe here, despite the unconventional start to our friendship.”

Like a half-drowned kitten, she dripped water onto his trousers. He smelled of summer breezes and crops ripening in the fields. So cold her teeth had stopped chattering, she let go of her fears and let Eli take charge. Heat flowed from his chest to hers, but it wasn’t enough. She felt like an ice cube lost at the back of a freezer.

He carried her through a narrow galley, and into the captain’s cabin. She’d expected twin bunks and a tiny space. Instead, this room reminded her of Nelson’s cabin on the HMS Victory. The back wall consisted of window panes, giving her a view of the distant cliffs. The view fascinated and delighted her but the cabin’s four-poster bed terrified her. It covered more than half the room and had enough room for three if not four.

Dane pulled towels from a trunk then tossed her one of his brother’s jumpers. “Get dry, princess then get into bed and warm up. We’re going to lock you in while we get underway in earnest, but we’ll be back with hot stew and a hot coffee soon.”

After living on half rations for a week, her mouth watered at the thought of a decent meal. That these dominant werewolves cared for her welfare stunned her. Then they offered her a coffee. Utter luxury.

Emotions set in, and tears filled her eyes. She broke into a cold sweat that turned her forehead clammy. She’d never felt so weary in her life—not even when she’d swum marathons.

Dane lifted her chin and gazed into her eyes. “Don’t cry, little human. You’re safe now.”

The intensity in his gaze felt like a shot of energy for her soul. It made her feel hot and tingly inside. She craved his touch, and maybe his kiss. A fresh set of shivers beset her. This time, they were more about her forbidden attraction for the werewolves than the cold.

About Kryssie Fortune

Kryssie lives by the beach and loses track of time when she writes. Her days are full of dashing regency rakes, former soldiers so handsome they make her drool, and the sexiest werewolves ever. The odd vampire makes it in there too, but when he does, he’s drop dead gorgeous.

Her pet hates are unhappy endings and cliff hangers. She guarantees you won’t find either in her books. Her books sizzle with sensual heat, but story always comes before sex. Even when part of a series, her books can be read as stand-alone romance.

Submitting To The Rancher by BJ Wane

Submitting To The Rancher by BJ Wane

BLURB:

Sydney Greenbriar finds more than she bargained for when she gets lost on her way to report for a new job and finds herself at a BDSM club. Peering in through the window, her attention, and libido are both snagged by one man delivering some old-fashioned discipline to a young blonde. After he runs her off, both are surprised to discover she is the new cook he’d hired for his ranch.

Caden MacGregor wanted to turn away the cheeky woman he’d caught spying on his club without remorse, but desperation for a cook forced his hand. Sydney proved to be a definite asset to his employees, and a royal pain in his butt. Somehow, her penchant for getting lost and landing in trouble, along with her determination to return to the club as a guest, soon slid past his resistance.

It took a threat to Sydney and unearthing the truth about what made her flee her home in Missouri to force them to admit their feelings and get her to stay as more than his cook.

Publisher’s Note: This contemporary western romance is intended for adults only and contains themes of mystery, suspense, power exchange, ménage and adult themes. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

EXCERPTS:

Sydney relished the morning sun on her face when they stepped back outside, the warmth helping to dispel the coldness inside her when she thought of still being so far from home come winter. She’d been enjoying listening to Caden’s deep voice and looking around the rustic but appealing interior of his home so much, she’d forgotten for a few moments the reason she was here in the first place. At least being stuck cooking boring meals for a bunch of cowhands came with the benefit of having Caden as her boss. Tall, dark and handsome didn’t begin to do his sex appeal justice, which the constant quickening of her girly parts could attest to.

“So, what do you do with all those cows?” she asked, nodding toward the pasture strewn with black grazing animals as they walked toward the clump of buildings a good city block from the house.

“Cattle,” he corrected. “And we breed them then sell them to either other ranches or farms or drive them to market.” Two large collies came bounding out of the closest barn and he stopped a moment to greet the friendly dogs.

“Oh, they’re so cute!” Stooping, Sydney laughed when wet tongues attacked her face and she sank her hands into their long, soft fur. “What’re their names?”

“Sadie is the tan and white. The black male is Spike. They’re working dogs, not pets, so don’t spoil them,” he warned, taking her elbow and steering her over to a dark green, one story building with neat white trim.

“I wouldn’t dream of it, boss.” Caden tossed her a suspicious look as he opened the door, but Sydney kept her expression bland. What he doesn’t know wouldn’t hurt either her or the dogs.

“This is where the hands gather for meals. Only five of them bunk overnight in the attached room, in case of an emergency and Connor and I need the help. You can fix breakfast and dinner for the seven of us up at the house. The others arrive by eight a.m. and work until five, some days a little longer. They expect a big lunch, not a salad or sandwich. Lots of carbs and calories. This hall is only used for the noon meal, or the large gatherings we hold with friends.”

The sparse, wood-planked big room held three long tables with chairs, a fireplace against the back wall and a door labeled ‘Restroom’. It was a far cry from the five-star restaurant where she enjoyed cooking gourmet meals from scratch, using nothing but all-natural ingredients. To take her mind off missing her job and friends, she resorted to teasing him again. “Friends?” Sydney drawled when he led her toward the large, industrial kitchen in the rear. “I saw how you like to entertain your friends, boss.”

Caden faced her, a scowl drawing his dark brows together. “The young woman you saw me with last night is not a friend, she’s a play partner, and you’re an employee. I don’t mix business with pleasure, Sydney. Remember that, and we’ll get along fine.”

Bummer. Her new boss sure could be a stick-in-the-mud. Turning her mind to her job, she admired the large kitchen and restaurant-grade appliances. At least she’d find some pleasure working here, even if the meals wouldn’t allow room to utilize her skills and preferences. Maybe she could play a little with the smaller breakfasts and dinners.

“I get along with everyone,” she told him as they left the building. Caden rolled his eyes but said nothing until he stopped at a corral and reached out to stroke the nose of a pretty, brown and white horse that trotted up.

“This is Daisy. She’s a sweetheart. Do you ride?”

Sydney wondered why she wanted to keep riling him. Maybe it was hormones, or lack of sex, or plain old attraction prodding her to goad him, to get under his skin the way he had hers. Looking up at him, her heart stuttered at his direct, blue gaze under the low brim of his hat. Shit. What the man could do to a girl’s insides with just a look ought to be illegal.

“I love to… ride,” she drawled with blatant innuendo.

His jaw tightened, his reply stated in a low, controlled voice. “Horses, Sydney.”

“Oh, well, no, I’ve never been on top of one of those. But it couldn’t be too hard. You said she’s a sweetheart.” She reached out a tentative hand to stroke the mare’s soft neck, enjoying the ripple of muscle under her hand.

“When I have time, I’ll take you up, give you a few lessons. Until then, don’t even think about it,” he warned.

“Another rule?” she quipped, beginning to chafe under the weight of his restrictions.

“Safety is high on our priority list, along with no employee membership, or even visits to our private club,” he stated, laying it on the line in blunt terms.

Sydney blew out a frustrated breath and gripped the rail. She may just end up as lonely on this busy ranch as she’d been traveling alone for the past few weeks. “You sure know how to suck the fun out of a new job, boss. I guess I’ll have to come up with other ways to enjoy my time off.”

I live in the Midwest with my husband and our dog, a lovable Great Pyrenees/Standard Poodle. I love dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting dogs and kids, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively throughout the states, Canada and just once overseas, but I now prefer being a homebody. I worked for a while writing articles for a local magazine but soon found my interest in writing for myself peaking. My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I slowly evolved to writing erotic spanking romance with a touch of suspense. My favorite genre to read is suspense.

Excerpt

Jade caught a scent of a human as she entered the fourteen-story building in downtown Snowfall. It wasn’t just any human scent, but something that made all of her instincts flare. She knew that she’d never caught this particular scent before, but something told her that this human might be important to her. She tried to brush it off as quickly as the thought came, but she couldn’t find it coincidental she smelled it in the same steel building owned by Ghost and housed the headquarters of Dark Company.

As she dismissed the fleeting thought of searching for the scent, her heart thumped once, hard, in her chest at the thought of not finding its owner. She forced herself to walk toward the elevator bank, ignoring the unwanted perusals she received from the men in the lobby. Even in an unassuming hoodie and black yoga pants, she drew unwanted attention. A side effect of being an immortal.

The elevator opened as soon as she pressed the up-button and she kept her gaze down as she walked into the elevator. She entered the code to get to Ghost’s private floor, her movements too quick to be caught by the human eye, before she squeezed into the corner. Jade used her other senses as three men in suits and two women entered the enclosed space with her. There was no need to glance at the glass interior that covered the back wall to see what she looked like.

She sensed eyes on her. Instead of searching out the gaze, she whipped her long, straight dyed black hair into a bun on the back of her head with quick movements before sneaking her hands into the front pockets of her hoodie.

Jade waited patiently as the car traveled toward the penthouse, her ultimate destination, but she couldn’t help but try to find the intriguing scent from earlier.

After my meeting.

All she knew was he hadn’t used the particular elevator she was in and the higher the lift took her in the building, the more his scent dissipated.

In her entire existence, or what she remembered of it, she’d never been attracted to…anyone. She’d never felt the pull to find someone either. But lately, she’d felt increasingly restless whenever she had any downtime and her skin tingled in a way that had nothing to do with signaling immediate danger. It was as though her body tried to convey something she didn’t understand.

Her thoughts were interrupted when a man who had gotten into the elevator with her on the first floor stepped into her personal space.

“Hey, beautiful?”

Jade rolled her eyes and raised her head to glare at the man. Of course, he wouldn’t take the hint that she wanted to be left alone. To emphasize the point, she crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, moving away from his intrusion.

The man decided to take this as an invitation and moved to wrap his arm around her waist. The move gave her a clear shot to his ribs and she took it, gently moving her elbow back and making contact. She flinched when she heard a distinctive crack, realizing she hadn’t been careful enough. Before she could apologize, the elevator door opened and he ran off without looking back, holding onto his side.

She sighed.
