Seeing Ronnie Romancing the Coast, Book 1 by Libby Campbell

Libby Campbell is here today with her book - Seeing Ronnie Romancing the Coast, Book 1! First a note about the series.

Background:

With book 3 in the Romancing the Coast, Trusting Ingrid, scheduled for release in June, what better time to look at books 1 and 2 in the series?

Watch Libby Campbell’s website or follow her on Amazon to be the first to learn of deals and discounts on books 1 and 2, closer to the release date of Trusting Ingrid.

Why did I choose to write about these three women?

After reading Winning Sadie, reviewer AGS said, “[I] would love to find out more about some of the supporting characters,” I thought, “I would too.”

The only way I knew to find out more about them was to write their stories. Because Ronnie was one of the feistiest, I started with her.

After that I moved on naturally to Cynthia. What I discovered at the base of her unhappiness was an eye-opener.

Last in the series, Ingrid was one of the hardest characters to write. To the world, she is a nasty, self-centred troublemaker. To the man who challenges her, she is a frightened creature whose bark is worse than her bite.

Trusting Ingrid is also the longest book in the series, finishing at just under 82,000 words. It’s quite a journey!

But now let’s get back to the start of the series: Seeing Ronnie.

Blurb:

As a social blogger, Ronnie Flynn—aloof, beautiful, cool as a cucumber—is desperate to get to the society event of the year: Simon and Sadie’s engagement party on Seguro Island. No surprise that her name isn’t on the guest list, but as always, Ronnie has a backup plan. A plan that involves the handsome Del Franklin.

Del agrees to a swap: Ronnie gives him the scoop on his estranged wife’s dirty secrets and he takes her as his date to his boss’s party. The handsome, buff man of Italian descent makes only one condition: Ronnie better be good. No snooping. No manipulating. No digging for dirt. Or else.

With crossed fingers, and in spite of Del’s threat of putting her over his knee for disobeying, Ronnie ‘promises’ to be a good girl. Right. She’s not worried about Del. Her code of Keeping a Healthy Distance will protect her heart, and her backside. She’s too wily to get caught, anyway.

Ronnie sees. Literally. She can channel people’s feelings and see into their hearts. All her life, she has been hiding this secret weapon—her psychic ability—because what she sees is often too hard to understand and impossible to share. If she can handle that secret, surely she can handle Del. Or can she? He’s not like anyone else. Nothing has prepared her for him. She shouldn’t react like this to his dominance. She’s an independent, wealthy woman in her own right. No man will tell her what to do. Yet, there is something about this sexy dominant Latin lover that makes her pulse race.

Will Ronnie allow Del to break her Code of Keeping a Healthy Distance? Will seeing Ronnie open Del’s eyes to a new world? Will the two of them ever see life the same way?

Publishers’ note: Seeing Ronnie is intended for adults only. Spanking and other sexual activities represented in this book are fantasies only, intended for adults. Nothing in this book should be interpreted as Blushing Books’ or the author’s advocating any non-consensual spanking activity or spanking of minors.

Excerpt one:

When you’re with me you will be polite and well mannered. Agreed?”

“Agreed.” Ronnie nodded soberly to show her good intentions, but under the table she crossed her fingers.

“You better mean that.” Del drained his coffee cup and levelled his eyes at her. “Because if I catch you prying or snooping—doing anything outside the bounds of good manners—there will be consequences.”

“Consequences?” Ronnie licked a drop of tea off her lips.

“Serious consequences.” The corner of his mouth lifted in a crooked smile. “I will turn you over my knee and paddle your bottom until you beg me to stop. And then I will spank you some more. Do I make myself clear?”

“You do,” Ronnie whispered. A damp flutter clenched between her legs and she pressed her knees together as if she could lock out the desire that suddenly sent her blood boiling. No one had ever threatened her like that before. Worse still, it was as though he was the one with the gift of second sight, as if he’d read her secret intention to ignore everything he’d just said. She glanced over her shoulder to see if anyone might have heard his sultry caution. No one was paying them any attention.

The very worst part was that she had no idea how she was going to turn off the part of her personality that wanted to know everything about everybody. She’d been accused of living through the dramas of other people’s lives and there was more truth to that than she cared to admit. Her own life was dishwater dull and she kept it that way so she had energy for her work as a gossip queen. More importantly she kept her life orderly so that there was no mud that could be slung her way. She twisted her tea cup to avoid looking at Del.

“One last problem.” Del spoke as calmly as if he hadn’t just suggested the most erotic thing anyone had put to Ronnie in ten years or so. “I haven’t made a booking and I’m sure every hotel and B&B on the island will be full by now.”

“I have a place we can stay.” Ronnie forced coolness into her voice. She didn’t say it’s a fabulous place and it’s for sale. She’d only seen it in pictures but if it was half as good in real life, she planned to buy it. That was her secret and she wasn’t sharing it with anyone. She held her expression impassive.

“You’ve got a place on Seguro?”

“I wish. This place belongs to friends, but we can use it this weekend. I also have ferry reservations to get us there.” Even if she didn’t get an invitation to the Jacobson bash, she’d planned a weekend on the island to test drive the lake house.

Del lifted an eyebrow. “Separate rooms?”

“Absolutely. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The memory of the warmth and strength of his hand in hers made her think that sharing a bed with Del Franklin might be pleasurable. The idea of being turned over his knee made her legs tremble. But none of that was going anywhere. She indulged herself in little fantasies from time to time, but she never acted on them.

Ronnie had sworn off men a long time ago.

Reading His Submissive (book 2 in Restrained Fantasies series) by Brandi Evans

Brandi Evans is here today with her book - Reading His Submissive!

Blurb

Raven:

I’ve spent my life depending on one person: myself. I’ve learned the hard way other people will only let me down. I’ve worked for everything I have, but thanks to my drug-addicted mother, I’m about to lose the one thing I’ve craved for years. Needing to make some extra cash, I ask my boss at Restrained Fantasies, a Dallas BDSM club, for some extra shifts. Much to my chagrin, Master Carter Burkes is with him, and Carter leaps to my rescue, bound and determined to save me—only I’m not the kind of girl who needs to be saved.

Carter:

I can’t sit by while Raven, a recurring figure in my fantasies, is in trouble. My job as a detective keeps me busy, but I’m not looking for a relationship, just a sub to assist with a class I’m teaching: Reading Your Submissive. Raven always claimed she wasn’t a member of the lifestyle, so imagine my surprise when I discover a budding submissive inside her. She gets under my skin in ways I can’t fight, but emotions are dangerous. I learned that the hard way. Is getting close to Raven a mistake? Will I destroy her life like I destroyed the life of the only woman I’ve ever loved?

This is book two in the Restrained Fantasies series but can be read as a standalone.

Publisher’s Note: This romance is intended for adults only. It contains elements of danger, suspense, mystery, BDSM, sensual scenes, romance and adult language. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

Excerpts:

Carter needed a sub, and he needed one now.

In four hours, he was supposed to start a class at Restrained Fantasies, the Dallas BDSM club that was his second home, but forty-five minutes earlier, the sub he’d enlisted to be his teaching subject had called in sick. How was he supposed to give a class on reading subs without a fucking sub?

If he had a little more time, he’d be able to find someone from Restrained Fantasies’ clientele, but time was the one thing he didn’t have. And not having everything planned out ahead of time scraped on his every nerve.

Carter dropped onto the leather desk chair across from one of the club’s co-owners, Brock Michaels. The other man made an interesting contrast to the sleek modern feel of his office. Brock was menace and intimidation that had somehow been fused together to create a living person. Shaved head, tattoos covering most of his upper body, the man oozed bad-boy-biker out the wazoo. He was the kind of man Carter, a detective outside the walls of the club, would pay close attention to if he were skulking around in dark alleys at night.

“Oh, I know who I could ask,” Carter said with a smile, the suggestion more to get a rise out of his friend than being an actual suggestion. “You could always let me use your pretty little sub. Viv looks spectacular in chains.”

Brock glared up from the paperwork scattered across his desk, his expression a few degrees shy of homicidal. “I don’t share Viv with anyone. Ever. And if you want to keep your testicles from being kicked into your throat, you’d do good to remember that.”

Carter fought to keep his grin from spreading and failed miserably. “I know, I know. Viv’s off limits. What about her friend Anne? Do you think she’d be game?”

“Most likely.” The other man leaned back, crossing muscular arms across a chest about as wide as the Grand Canyon. “Anne’s game for almost anything. If she says no, you could always ask Terry. She might like the overtime.”

“Already asked Terry, but she has plans she said she couldn’t get out of.”

Brock opened his mouth to respond, but a knock sounded against his partially open office door, and an angel followed the sound inside. Well, a dark angel anyway. Raven Malek, with her blacker-than-black hair and purple highlights, tattoos running the length of her arms and shoulders, nose and eyebrow piercings, ripped jeans, and a T-shirt with a bleeding rose could never be classified as an angel. But damn, she drew him in with the unstoppable fury of a supermassive black hole.

Emphasis on black.

Raven was one of two bartenders at Restrained Fantasies and, for the past few months, she’d also been an on-again, off-again player in Carter’s jerk-off fantasies. He couldn’t pinpoint precisely when the young woman had snagged his attention, but she had. All five-foot-six, lush and curvy inch of her.

What would her sexy body look like tied open to him?

Author Bio:

Brandi Evans was raised by a caravan of traveling Gypsies. She spent her days learning the ways of her people and her nights lost in legends as old as time. Okay, not really, but that's way more interesting than the truth!

In reality, Brandi grew up the oldest child of an ordinary family. Grade school, middle school, high school. Nothing extraordinary happened until she left the nest. She joined the military, went to college, got married, and became a mom. And somewhere along the way, she discovered she liked to read—and write!—stories hot enough to melt eReaders.

Fun Facts from Reading His Submissive

I added the following lines because this IS me. Raven is me! It’s just a little part of myself I put into her.
When Raven was finished dressing her coffee—two sugars and just a splash of cream—she took a sip and sighed. “I swear I could live off coffee.”

The following is also a little bit of me I crafted into Raven.

“So, you’re not big into cooking, I see.” She flashed a dick-hardening smile. “I actually enjoy cooking. I suck at it, but I enjoy it.”

The following line is actually inspired by Robin Hood. Ya know, the old Disney animated movie. Two cookies for anyone who gets it, LOL.
“And I’m so very glad she did.” He made a twirly motion with his index finger. “Let me see the back.”

The following post-sexy-times exchange is a bit of a nod to the show Lost Girl.

He was tracing a straight line of her arm tattoo when she finally spoke again. “Is it always like that between Dom and sub? The sex, I mean.”
“Well, I like to think I add a little something special to the mix.”

For anyone who knows me, you know I’m a giant nerd, and I like to put geeky references into all my stories. So here’s a Doctor Who (Ten) reference.

“I’m sorry, Genny. I’m so, so sorry.”

And this one is pretty obvious. I’m not sure I even need to say where it’s from, but for those who don’t know, this is a nod to Danny Glover’s character in Lethal Weapon.

“He was seriously getting too old for this shit.” Nod to Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon.

Near the end of the story, when the hero meets a fellow detective from Oregon, the woman is wearing a Harry Potter t-shirt, jeans, and Converse high tops, which just so happened to be the same outfit I was wearing when I wrote the scene. ;-) Is this an example of art imitating life?

Character Chat:

Joining Brandi on Character Chat today is Detective Carter Burkes, a Dom and frequent patron of the Dallas BDSM club Restrained Fantasies. Carter is the hero of Brandi’s Blushing Books BDSM novel, Reading His Submissive. He and his sexy heroine, Raven, heated up Brandi’s life for months as they told her about their love story.

Without further ado…

Brandi:
Welcome Carter! Thank you so much for dropping by to chat with me again. I had such an amazing time telling yours and Raven’s story. Talk about two people overcoming the odds! And just in case I haven’t mentioned it enough, thank you for trusting me enough to tell readers the story of how you um, read your submissive! *shakes her head, laughing* Too on the nose?

Carter:
A little—but apropos. *winks*

Brandi:
Sorry. (Not sorry!)

Carter:
I bet. You sound just like Raven.

Brandi:
I take that as a compliment! I simply fell in love with Raven. She’s so strong and independent. Feisty. Very feisty. I mean, she’d have to be to overcome the shitty hand she’d been dealt in life, but each time I re-read y’all’s story, I kinda fall in love with her a little more.

Carter:
How do you think I felt, Brandi? From the moment I first saw her, she drew me to her with the unforgiving strength of a black hole. I was powerless to stay away. I was so out of my element.

Brandi:
Y’all’s story simply amazed me. Don’t get me wrong, your scenes in the club dungeons were off-the-chart, lava hot. *fans self as said scenes flash through mind* But there was also an intense vulnerability and heart woven throughout. I didn’t expect that. One moment, I think I’m gonna need a cold shower, and the next, y’all’s love is tugging at my heartstrings. And the ending—I still get choked up.

Carter:
You’re not the only one. *takes a visible breath and makes Brandi’s heart ache* Neither of us were spared in the shitty-life department. To paraphrase, Raven, we’re both pretty fucked up after everything we’ve been through. Fucked up in different ways, sure, but still pretty broken.

Brandi:
Broken but not unfixable. Y’all taught me that. *resists urge to take his hand in support* Without giving too much of your story away, what do you say we take a few moments to introduce readers to yours and Raven’s story?

Carter:
Where do I begin? Trying to whittle down Raven and what she means to me into a few words is a tall order. Like you said, she’s so strong and independent, so much so she had trouble accepting help. There were so many times I wanted desperately to help her, but she resisted. It was almost like she was afraid asking for or accepting help would somehow make her weak.

Brandi:
That’s a pretty good way to describe her. She fought you hard, especially the first night of your class.

Carter:
Tell me about it. Something about being thought of as submissive stuck in her craw, but I can’t really blame her that much. Considering the shit her mom put her through, I’m—

Brandi:
Easy! We don’t want to give away too much.

Carter:
Sorry. *he grins, showing off the dimples that drove Raven crazy*

Brandi:
I should probably let you get going anyway. Between your job as a detective and keeping Raven satisfied, I’m sure your time is at a premium these days, but I do have one last question. With so many great books out there, what makes yours and Ravens’s story a must-read?

Carter:
Because everyone has tragedy in their life, but tragedy doesn’t define us. It’s a thing that happens to us; it isn’t us. It’s a concept I didn’t truly understood until Raven.

To Break a Warrior King’s Curse by Krysse Fortune

Krysse Fortune is here today with her book - To Break a Warrior King’s Curse!

Blurb:

Leonidas can fight anything except dark magic.

He inherited his father’s curse along with the Fae throne. Thanks to a rogue witch, if he doesn’t bed a different woman every month, he’ll turn feral. A man can only stand so much meaningless sex. No wonder he hates witches.

When he meets Meena, he intends to seduce her, not love her.

Meena’s a witch who never developed any powers.

Banished to the mundane world, she masquerades as human. When she accidentally bonds with an escaped war dragon, Leonidas comes to reclaim it. His enemies strip him of his powers, and his month’s almost up.

What happens when he discovers she’s a witch? And how will this warrior king cope when his curse kicks in and forces him into another woman’s bed.

PLEASE NOTE This book was previously sold with the title CURSE OF THE FAE KING.

Sales Link

EXCERPT:

Meena almost retched. Everything she learned about the Elves made her hate them more. “That potion. What was it?”

“Distilled musk taken from a female rat as she comes into season,” her companion whispered.

“Randy rat juice?” Meena spluttered. “And I drank it.”

A second woman entered, carrying short lengths of rope. “And soon, just like an animal in heat, you will burn for the touch of a man.”

The outer door swished open then someone closed it with a bang. She didn’t care that she was naked and defenseless. She just wanted the victor to screw her hard and fast. Or maybe slow and easy. Perhaps both. In her best dreams, he brought a friend.

Her raging hormones didn’t care as long as someone relieved the burning need between her legs. Another wave of desire hit her, shooting fresh longings to her sensitized nerve endings. Her need blossomed into pain—intense, clear, and sharp. She trembled. She needed. She wanted. Goddess, if she didn’t come soon, she’d explode. She heard a flint strike, and a candle cast eerie shadows across the entry room.

In the name of the collective covens, I’m in here. Get a move on. Please.

The scent of chocolate and chili assailed her, and then Leonidas strode to her side. Face stern, he spun on his heel and shoved a chair against the door handle. He moved to the bed, towering over her as he stared at her face through the flickering candlelight. He frowned as, back arched, hips rolling, she demanded, “Don’t just stand there. Fuck me.”

More about Kryssie Fortune.

Kryssie reads everything and anything, from literary fiction to sizzling romance. Her earliest memory is going to the library with her mother. She can’t have been more than two at the time. Reading, especially when a book’s hot and explicit, is more than a guilty pleasure. It’s an obsession.

Kryssie needed a world for her Scattered Sibling adventures. With its green sky, carnivorous plants and rats bigger than cars, the otherworld is a violent place. Lykae, Fae, and vampires all live there. If the characters come to our mundane world, they often visit the North Yorkshire resort town of Whitby—British home of all things gothic and weird. For Kryssie, mixing reality and fantasy is the best entertainment.

Kryssie lives on the coast, about thirty miles from Whitby, and she know it well. She enjoys gardening, travel, and socializing with her author friends. You’d be surprised how many erotic romance authors live in the north of England.

This year, Kryssie’s main publisher—Loose id – decided it could no longer compete with Amazon. Sadly, they close their doors permanently in May. For Kryssie, getting her book rights back is a chance to go indie. To Break a Warrior King’s Curse is the first book she’s self-published

And the title change?

When she started writing, Kryssie didn’t realize how much she’d fall in love with the otherworld. All her Scattered Sibling’s series books have a title starting with TO… She simply brought this in line with the rest. Please, read and enjoy

INTERVIEW:

What are your favourite scenes in your book: the action, the dialogue, or the romance?

It’s got to be the romance, but it’s got to hang on a good story. Dialogue’s hard though. Before I retired, I worked for a TV soap. It always amazed me that the cast spoke in such short sentences. On screen, it made them sound like real people. I try to incorporate that in my books.

How do you feel about writing a series?

My Scattered Siblings series is a collection of stand-alone tales set in a magical world. The plants are man eating, the Elves misogynistic, and the Lykae and Fae take the heroines’’ breath away with their ferocity and good looks. I love the way the earlier characters crop in cameos throughout the series. It’s like a party with all your best friends invited.

Cat or a dog person?

Both. We always had cats when the kids were little, but we live too near the main road now. When I was younger, I had a Welsh Terrier—a sort of teddy bear on legs. I’d have a dog, but my husband goes all Mr. Spock on me and points out that since our kids both live in London, we sometimes need to zoom off at the drop of a hat. It wouldn’t be fair on the dog. I admit he’s right, but I don’t have to like it.

How do you feel when you finish writing a book?

Finishing a story is like saying goodbye to great friends. I hate cliffhangers and unhappy endings so I can guarantee a happy ever after in my books.

Kryssie would love to hear from you. Here are her media links.

MASTERING HER FEAR by BJ Wane

BJ Wane is here today with her book MASTERING HER FEAR!

BLURB:

Julie Martin pulled on Jackson Davenport’s protective urges the minute he stepped outside and saw her go flying off her swing to land in a heap of gangly arms and legs then come up smiling. When he discovered how her parents pressed her into competing in beauty pageants for their own selfish gratification, he took it upon himself to provide her with the friendship the little girl craved. Years later, just when his adult feelings – and body – began to want more from the beautiful young woman she’d grown up to be, Julie moved away to take the modeling world by storm. Jackson’s first encounter with the changes in her personality broke his heart and he severed all ties with her.

Six years later, Julie returns to Jackson a broken woman, unable to cope with the nightmare that changed her life forever. When he discovers her penchant for cutting herself to deal with the fear, he shows her a new side of him she’s never seen before, and a new way to get through the darkness that continues to plague her.

Even though Julie embraces Jackson’s dominant sexuality and the way his painful ministrations work much better at calming her fears, the truth of what happened the night her two friends were murdered stands between them. Will she be able to set aside her guilt to tell him the entire truth, or will she once again lose the only person who can complete her?

Publisher’s Note: This book is intended for adults only. It contains elements of power exchange and explicit scenes. While it is the third title in the Miami Masters series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

EXCERPT:

Jackson couldn’t decipher what Julie’s grimace meant or why the mention of orgasms would make her muscles tighten, but he could pull the cause out of her later. Today was for demonstrating. Sliding his hands around to her buttocks, he kneaded the soft flesh, keeping a close eye for her response. “I enjoyed spanking you the other day. You did, too, which means you’ll like this.” He released her ass to pick up a multi-strand flogger and trailed the narrow leather strips over her breasts.

“Is that what I think it is?” she questioned with a catch in her voice.

“I don’t read minds, Julie.”

“And I might be green about your sexual preferences, but I know what a flogger is,” she returned, her voice going breathless as he tickled her waist then glided the leather strips up the inside of one leg. “But I’ve never felt one.”

“This one has twelve strands, long and thin to cover a larger area. Spread your feet wider and leave them there.” She complied without hesitation, another positive sign. Jackson moved to stand at her side, teased the globes of her ass with another slow trail of the braided leather then pulled back to deliver a light snap over both cheeks, just hard enough to leave faint pink stripes behind. “You good?”

“Yes, yes, I’m fine.” The rows of tiny stings that stroke elicited drew her nipples into tighter beads and added to the building dampness in her pussy. Julie bit her lip again, waiting in anticipation for the next strike. It came fast, this one a little sharper, landing below the first, the extra punch seeping deep inside her and pulling a response she never dreamed possible. “Jackson.”

BIO:
I live in the Midwest with my husband and our two dogs. I love dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting dogs and kids, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively throughout the states, Canada and just once overseas, but I now much prefer being homebody. I worked for a while writing articles for a local magazine but soon found my interest in writing for myself peaking. My first book was strictly spanking erotica, but I slowly evolved to writing erotic spanking romance with a touch of suspense. My favorite genre to read is suspense.
